Is the $50 the new $20? I wonder…

This month I celebrated my birthday in NYC. It was a “multiple event” as my daughter is home from college and had an interview scheduled on my birthday. We decided to celebrate the play of life, work and milestones in the Big Apple. Running out of cash from several more than planned cab rides, we went to the ATM to retrieve transportation currency. Surprisingly, when the cash appeared through the mechanical door, instead of the usual twenty dollar bills, there were fifty dollar bills.  My immediate reaction was, Wow, look at this. Immediately after, I wondered, is the $50 the new $20?
